Curiosity Born from a Theme: The Rhythm of Learning at Nadas
At Nadas Children’s Village, learning is not a journey of memorized facts, but a map drawn by children with their own footsteps. Everything begins with a question: “Why are we learning this?” And the answer takes shape around a theme.
Here, we want to bring meaning to learning. Every piece of knowledge offered to children should spark curiosity within them. That is why we built our learning process on a powerful approach called thematic learning.
We don’t just choose a subject—we create a world. We step into that world and breathe it in. For example, under the theme of Time, we don’t only talk about clocks. We explore seasons, memories, history, the sky, and growth. Math, language, science, art—all lessons are woven into this shared narrative. Each child becomes part of this world, takes on meaning, and finds a role. Learning is no longer only what the teacher tells—it becomes something the child tells, too.
Classes are divided into small groups. Children think, discuss, build, and solve together with their peers. Because we know the strongest way to learn is by thinking together and learning from one another. This is where the Mantle of the Expert approach comes into play. Everything begins with a story. A need arises. The child is no longer just a student; they become a scientist, a researcher, an engineer, an artist. The knowledge they need suddenly becomes vital—because with it, they will solve a problem, create something, or touch a world.
Thus, learning is no longer abstract or distant. Knowledge merges with experience. It flows through the heart, takes shape in the hands. The child questions, tries, makes mistakes, tries again… and learns.
At Nadas, thematic learning is more than connecting lessons—it is the way a child connects with life. With every theme, we are here to awaken children’s curiosity, make knowledge real, and turn learning into a way of living.
